Black Is King: 4 Years Later, The Legacy Moves On

Revisiting the visual masterpiece four years after its release. We explore how the film weaves together themes of family, identity, and strength to present an unapologetic portrayal of Blackness. From the symbolism of hair to the integration of poetry, this piece examines how the work continues to challenge dominant narratives and confront historical injustices.

Cowboy Carter: Through a South African Lens

Conceptualizing the album as a "universal template" for dismantling historical erasure. This project draws a visceral parallel between the exclusion of Black contributions to country music and the systematic "cultural stripping" of indigenous South Africa.

Fairness in sports, A myth we can’t ignore

In my article, I highlight the systemic hypocrisy in elite sports, where natural biological advantages are routinely celebrated in athletes like Michael Phelps but unfairly penalized in Black African women like Caster Semenya. I argue that subjecting these women to invasive regulations and forced medical alterations is not about athletic fairness, but rather stems from fear and a desire to enforce Eurocentric standards of femininity.

If you need three years and $500 million to recognize these fundamental flaws, you aren’t analyzing football—you’re just waiting for results that a dogmatic manager like him is incapable of delivering.

Beyond the Pass Mark: Uncovering the Real Issues in the South African Education System

I view the 30% pass mark debate as a hollow political gimmick that distracts from the systemic rot and chronic lack of resources currently failing our learners. Until the Department of Basic Education meets its own standards by fixing crumbling township infrastructure, raising the bar is just a populist lie that sets students up to fail while ignoring state incompetence.

I don’t think you’re supposed to come into a relationship thinking that’s the person you going to be with forever.

I believe that chasing "umlasto" is a trap that makes us prioritize a hypothetical forever over our actual happiness, leading to toxic "settling" and a fear of starting over. We need to accept that relationships are often like a multi-leg taxi journey, where forcing someone to stay past their stop only stunts the character development we need to reach our final destination.
